Dress My Dog Naples would like to share some tips on how to keep you, your dog and trick-or-treaters safe during Halloween.
Whether trick-or-treating with your dog or handing candy out at home please keep in mind that some children are very afraid of dogs. This could cause a stressful situation for the child as well as your dog.
Your dog may get nervous with so many people wearing costumes. Be sure your dog’s collar is not too tight but tight enough that he can’t back out of it. If needed you may consider putting a harness on your dog.
It may be a good idea to keep your dog in a separate room while you are at home handing candy out to trick-or-treaters.
When purchasing a Halloween costume for your dog be sure it is the proper size for your dog to walk safely.
